The Lone Tree at Llyn Padarn has become a very popular spot for photographers and even an early morning arrival can mean that there’s a line of people waiting to set up a shot of the iconic tree with its backdrop of Snowdon.
On occasion you can have the place to yourself and it’s the perfect spot to start watch the sunrise before a day walking or taking photos in the mountains.
This spot is perfect for a solitary walk to gather your thoughts at sunrise or for chasing children along the winding paths alongside the lagoons. If you are spending the day exploring Snowdonia, its easy access and free ample parking makes it a perfect port of call on your itinerary.
Suitability for families
The lagoons are perfect for exploring with children and there are picnic tables dotted around the edges of Llyn Padarn. The lake is popular for Kayaking and for wild swimming for those of you willing to brave the cold water.
The lagoons lie just on the edges of Llanberis and are opposite the DMM factory.
